Both run AI voice calls. Different audiences. Bolna sells infrastructure to developers; Cualify sells a finished product to Indian SMB operators. Here's the truth about when each is the right pick.
One-paragraph TL;DR
Pick Cualify if
You want AI calling working by Friday.
• Non-technical founder or operations team
• Indian SMB selling/supporting in INR
• Need GST invoices, DPDP compliance, NDNC scrub out of the box
• Want WhatsApp + CRM integrations without engineering work
• Value "works in 5 minutes" over "infinitely configurable"
Pick Bolna if
You're a developer building custom flows.
• 3+ engineers comfortable with WebSocket + telephony APIs
• Need multi-agent orchestration or voice cloning today
• Building product on top of Bolna and don't need the UX layer
• OK to write your own carrier serializers and compliance gates
• USD billing is fine

Bolna wins here. If you have 3+ engineers wanting low-level control, Bolna is the better fit.
Custom voice cloning
Year 2 roadmap
Available today
Bolna wins. We deprioritized voice cloning because it requires SOC 2 + ML infra we don't have yet.
Multi-agent orchestration
Single-agent today; multi-agent on roadmap
Available for technical customers
Bolna wins for enterprise multi-agent flows.
Questions we get
Are you a Bolna reseller?
We use Bolna's voice runtime under the hood today, the same way Vercel uses AWS. Our value sits in the customer-experience layer above it — onboarding, dashboards, compliance, integrations, Indian-market polish. Year 2 we expand to a multi-provider runtime including Pipecat where the economics make sense.
If you use Bolna underneath, why not just go to Bolna directly?
If you're a 3+ engineer team that wants to build a custom voice agent stack, you should. Cualify exists for the founder or operations team that wants a working AI calling system in 5 minutes — without writing voice infrastructure code, configuring carrier serializers, or implementing DPDP compliance from scratch.
Will Bolna ever raise prices and squeeze you?
Possible — and the architecture is designed for that risk. The voice runtime is one adapter behind a clean interface. If Bolna's pricing changes adversely, we swap to Pipecat-self-hosted on AWS within a quarter. Customers wouldn't notice the change because the dashboard, API, and webhooks all stay the same.
How are you 'more compliant' than Bolna?
Compliance isn't a feature, it's a discipline. We bake TRAI calling-window gates into every dispatch path, scrub every contact list against NCPR before campaigns launch, record consent at call start, retain transcripts for 2 years and recordings for 90 days, and host every byte in Supabase Mumbai. Bolna technically lets you do all of this, but you build and audit it yourself.
What if I'm already on Bolna and want to migrate to Cualify?
Bring your existing Bolna API key. We import your agents, map your existing recordings into our analytics view, and you're running campaigns on Cualify's dashboard within an afternoon. No customer-facing change. Email [email protected] for the migration script.
